Of course I need a chance to show off my own pets!
Thorn, 8 yr old female spayed Rottweiler/Doberman
We adopted Thorn from the Michigan Humane Society in October of 1999 when she was 5 months old. I can't believe it's been 8 yrs! She's always at my side, and is my intelligent, devoted friend...even if she is a bed hog and acts like she never gets petting or attention, LOL. Favorite games: fetching her ball and chasing the flashlight beam! And eating her rawhide bones & bullies. She was named after the comic heroine from "Bone".
Toasty & Templeton
the rats! :)

Rats make wonderful pets; hopefully the movie "Ratatouille" helped to put these amazing critters in a different light! Toasty (tan & white) is the most amazing rat I've ever had; he's so social! I give him supervised time out of his cage, & he follows behind me & even wants to hang out with Thorn! He has no fear, quite a little explorer! His brother Templeton is the exact opposite; he will not ever leave the cage, even with the door wide open, & doesn't want to be held, but he & Toasty are best buds!
Sir
Swims-A-Lot the Betta
Sir Swims-A-Lot is a very happy addition to our family! I don't believe in supporting the pet fish industry but wanted a fish again; a woman walked into my work with 30 Betta Fighting Fish that were part of her friend's wedding table centerpieces, & they were just going to dump them in a lake, so she rescued them. We all walked out with a little fish, & since then I've probably spent $100 on my "free" fish, but he's so happy & I love him!
Pets That Have Passed
I will never forget you, my loving friends!
Cisco,
Feb 1998-Jan 2008
Cisco, my dear, sweet, loving boy. You brought joy & love to us for almost 10 years. You were an intelligent, devoted, dear-hearted, gentle friend. The laughter & joy you brought will always be in our hearts. I'm happy that you are no longer sick, & now prance in the clouds, once again young & strong. You were everything a rottweiler should be: loyal, devoted, strong, a true friend to us for your whole life. We may have rescued you from the cage in the shelter, but you gave us so much more in return. I will always remember you, & my heart still holds a special place just for you. Farewell my angel, thank you for the unconditional love, & we will never forget you.
Boo-Boo, June 1981 to March 1999
Our precious Boo-Boo kitty, you graced our lives for almost 18 years. He was an intelligent, devoted friend and "little brother". We will never forget you or the joy you brought! Our hearts will always be filled with your love! I still miss your talkative nature, how joyful you always were when we came home, and how you'd jump right up into our arms!
Sugar, July 1982 to August 1988
My Sugar kitty, you came to us as a stray kitten and became my best friend. You left us when you were only 6 years old, and the vet didn't know what was wrong with you. I will never forget my "dog cat" that learned to sit up and beg and fetched balls. You were a loving and devoted friend.
Nicodemus and Kahlua
Yes, even my ratties get a spot. Most people can't get past the "tail thing", but rats are clean, intelligent, and much more social than other rodents. They only live about 2 to 3 yrs which is a shame as you get so attached to them! I also miss Scabbers & Justin, the fattest rats ever.
Scabbers and Justin

My dear sweet little Nynaeve (Nine-Eve), you were so brave and gentle at the same time! I will miss you!
